Lake Park council approves maintenance hires, interim supervisor and names new police chief

Council Member Oscar Griffith moved to hire Jeff Patterson and Troche Roberts for maintenance positions and to promote Simon Davis to interim maintenance supervisor with a 90‑day probation period; Council Member Zachary Fletcher seconded and the motion passed as recorded 4‑0.
Council Member Michelle Lane moved to hire Matthew Campisi as police chief and to promote Officer Matt Colson to captain; Council Member Busby Courson seconded and the motion passed 4‑0 as recorded. The council also authorized the City Clerk to hire two administrative staff members, Laura Levesque and Amber Taylor; that motion passed 4‑0.
The personnel votes followed an executive session the council said was to discuss real estate and personnel matters. The council reconvened at 8:33 p.m. and approved the executive‑session minutes for July 1, July 31, Aug. 13 and Aug. 27, 2025.
All employment actions taken Sept. 2 are recorded in the minutes; the council set a 90‑day probation period for the promoted interim maintenance supervisor.
