The Village of Bayside Board of Trustees on Oct. 16 approved Ordinance No. 25-762, amending municipal code section 35-122 to change Ellsworth Park closing hours and update related prohibitions.
Village Manager Andy Pederson gave a brief overview of the proposed ordinance, saying it addresses three operational updates for Ellsworth Park intended to enhance safety, reduce nuisance activity and align park usage. Trustee Barth moved the ordinance with an amendment setting closing time at “8:00 p.m. or sunset, whichever is earlier,” and Trustee Rudman seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The ordinance will repeal and recreate the existing code language for section 35-122; the board did not identify additional changes to the park rules during the meeting. The action followed the board’s routine consent and committee reports and drew no recorded opposition.
Next steps: the ordinance will be codified per the village’s standard ordinance-adoption process and take effect consistent with village publication procedures.
