Chairman Chris Klein called the Silver Creek Township Planning and Zoning Board to order on April 1, 2025. The board approved the prior meeting minutes and took action on three new-business requests, including a conditional approval aimed at addressing vehicle turnaround and traffic concerns.
A motion by Jesse Dickinson to approve the '03-04-35 Meeting Minutes' was seconded by Tom Vanek and carried. Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen recorded attendance that included board members Mark Egge, Tom Vanek, Jesse Dickinson, Mike Helman, Brandon Geyen and Ryan Nelson.
Tom Vanek moved to approve a request associated with Sara Helman “with no future reviews unless of complaints”; Brandon Geyen seconded. Mike Helman abstained; the motion carried, establishing approval while limiting routine review to complaint-driven circumstances.
The board approved Skies Limit LLC’s request as written on a motion by Mike Helman, seconded by Brandon Geyen. During that item a resident raised concerns about how new property owners would access the lakeshore, noting an easement at the end of 101st and suggesting the possibility of adding a turnaround or cul-de-sac to improve access. The board did not record a revision to the Skies Limit LLC approval in the minutes.
Wave Armor’s request was approved conditionally after a motion by Jesse Dickinson that the easterly gravel drive be widened to a minimum of 60 feet and be accessible for use as a turnaround. The board and members of the public discussed traffic impacts on 148th and Devitt, including the lack of space to turn around if a driver misses the business entrance and the potential for increased use of the County Rd 8/148th intersection. The conditional approval ties the permit to the specified driveway widening and turnaround accessibility.
Brandon Geyen moved to adjourn; Ryan Nelson seconded and the meeting was adjourned. No future meeting dates or additional follow-up items were recorded in the minutes.
