Silver Creek authorizes up to $4,000 for tack trailer; ARPA spending and budget dates discussed

The Silver Creek Township Board voted Aug. 20 to authorize the maintenance department to spend up to $4,000 on a tack trailer. Vice Chairman Mike Helman moved for authorization; Supervisor Brandon Geyen seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
During new business the board also discussed options for remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, listing potential uses including a road project, an office computer and the possibility of using a portion for hall flooring. Supervisor Ryan Nelson was assigned to gather estimates for the suggested uses. The board did not adopt any ARPA allocations at this meeting; the matter remains under consideration.
Budget meeting dates were discussed but not finalized and the Wright County Code of Ordinances solid-waste response form was continued to the Sept. 3, 2024 meeting.
