Silver Creek Township approves routine claims, minutes and election judges

The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors approved a series of routine administrative motions during its July 16, 2024 meeting, including the agenda, the July 9 minutes, claims and disbursements, the Clerk/Treasurer report and a list of election judges.
Vice Chairman Mike Helman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and, before Chairman Chris Newman arrived at 7:02 p.m., Supervisor Brandon Geyen moved to approve the agenda; Supervisor Sandy Forsman seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The board then approved the July 9, 2024 minutes (motion by Geyen, seconded by Forsman, carried 3-0).
After Chairman Newman’s arrival the board approved a list of claims and disbursements (audit list included checks 18866 for $3,233.00; 18868 for $324.00; 18870 for $3,942.85; 18872 for $29.95; and 18874 for $9,756.00) and the Clerk/Treasurer report (General Fund $158,288.11; Road & Bridge $601,545.96; Fire Fund $78,766.86; ARPA Fund $13,772.51; Checking $24,677.64). Motions to approve the claims and the report were carried unanimously 4-0.
In old business, the board voted to delay hiring until responses to the current week’s advertisement are evaluated and authorized placing one additional ad if needed for up to $200; that motion (made by Chairman Newman and seconded by Vice Chairman Helman) carried 4-0.
Supervisor Sandy Forsman moved to approve the slate of election judges on the condition they had been asked if they wanted to work; Vice Chairman Helman seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
The meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m. on a motion by Vice Chairman Helman, seconded by Supervisor Forsman (carried 4-0).
