The Cudahy City Council took the following actions at its special meeting:
• Agenda change: Council approved moving presentation 6a to after public comment and before closed session by voice vote; motion passed with no opposition (voice vote). • Waiver of full reading: Council approved waiving the full reading of resolutions and ordinances by voice vote. • Consent calendar: Council approved the consent calendar by voice vote. • Closed session settlement: In closed session the council, in a 4–0 vote, approved the settlement of a pending pre‑litigation claim against the city (final action taken); direction was given to negotiators on a real property lease matter with Southern California Gas Company and no other reportable actions were announced.
Staff will return to the council with (a) revised ballot language and outreach plans for a proposed extension of the city’s 0.75% transactions and use tax ahead of the Aug. 7 county filing deadline; and (b) packaged budget options to address an approximately $890,000 FY26–27 gap for council consideration and potential action at a future meeting.
