River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and outlines appointment process

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term through November 2026) at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman's resignation letter. The board approved acceptance of the resignation on a motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly. The minutes note this is an appointment to fill the unexpired term, not an election.
The board directed outreach to solicit candidates: Mr. Long and The Meadows' POA manager will e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The minutes list materials that will accompany a future appointment, including administration of the oath of office, required ethics training and disclosure filing, a membership guide, Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics guidance, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict) information.
The board did not select a replacement at the Aug. 27 meeting; it set a process for candidate solicitation and indicated resumes will be included on the next meeting agenda for consideration.
