Town Attorney Lyn Tucker Fullen opened the Safety Board meeting at 6:00 p.m. and identified the alleged violations, citing Town of Paoli Social Media Policy 515 and four sections of the Paoli Police Department Standard Operating Procedures (General Order 2014-01): Section 4.1 B (conduct), Sections 4.8 A and 4.8 B (discussing evidence/confidential investigations), and Section 4.9 (divulging police information). The board's motion, made by Theron Owen and seconded by Arla Jean Frazier, found the member violated those policies and imposed a three-day unpaid suspension. The motion passed in a roll-call vote with Bobbie Bostock, Arla Jean Frazier, Mylea Pluris and Theron Owen voting in favor and Donna Dillard voting against.
The board directed that the disciplinary findings be entered into the Safety Board's official record. No formal statement from the disciplined member was recorded in the minutes, and the file notes the member has retained legal counsel. The town attorney declined to treat follow-up questions from Police Chief Randy Sanders as part of the disciplinary hearing.
The Safety Board adjourned after the vote. There was no record in the minutes of an appeal or of additional corrective action beyond the suspension.
