Paoli council votes to hire outside counsel after reported security breach

The council moved and voted on the recommendation in the special session called to address the matter. Theron Owen made the motion to proceed; Arla Jean Frazier seconded. The motion passed 4-0.
Town Clerk-Treasurer Beth A. Jones and Town Attorney Hunt Reynolds were in attendance for the session; Councilwoman Donna Dillard was absent. The council did not provide further detail about the nature of the breach, affected systems, or next procedural steps beyond contacting the firm and approving the retainer.
The engagement of outside counsel is intended to establish the scope of the breach and recommend remedial actions; the council indicated the firm had been contacted and a retainer would be required for the firm to begin work.
