Board unanimously approves six routine resolutions including DPW staffing changes and sprinkler change order

The Village of New Hyde Park Board of Trustees unanimously approved six routine resolutions during its May 21, 2026 meeting, including personnel moves within the Department of Public Works and a contract change order for new DPW garage sprinklers.

The board voted to authorize Abstract No. 25-24 (Resolution 25-109). Trustees then amended Resolution 25-98 to name OceanFirst Bank, N.A., as a village depository (25-110). The board promoted Oscar Cruz (25-111) and Fred Fiore (25-112) from part-time to full-time laborers in the Department of Public Works, and approved hiring David Bell as a part-time DPW laborer effective June 1, 2026 (25-113). The board also authorized a change order and additional costs for new DPW garage sprinklers (25-114).

The minutes record each motion as approved unanimously by the board.

Why it matters: the staffing changes shift DPW capacity ahead of summer maintenance activity and parks season, while the sprinkler change order modifies capital work at the new DPW garage.
