Sandy Beach manager reports hires and dock issue; treasurer announces resignation effective Dec. 31

Lara Norris, the Sandy Beach manager, told the commission on June 18 that she has hired two additional lifeguards and had one interview pending. She said she had contacted Laurentano last week to request that the dock be moved farther from shore but had not yet received a response; she asked Chairman Ed Ryle to call Matt to follow up.
Treasurer Kathy VanOrmer informed the commission she verbally offered her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2026 and that she will help train a successor once one is appointed or found. Kathy said she will prepare reports for the towns and recommended using Lara's September final manager's report to create formal town reports for Denise and Tom.
Terry Connor reported selling a zero-turn mower on Facebook Marketplace for $700 and offered to loan his zero-turn mower to the beach for an upcoming mow. Ed Ryle said he had forwarded a Bantam Lake Ski Club contract and asked Lara to staff a Saturday night party (7 p.m. to 11 p.m.) for $200; Lara agreed to cover the shift and Ed will forward a copy of the contract to her.
Administrative items included Jennifer Parsons sharing email credentials with Lara, Lara updating shadow boxes for 2026, Kathy asking the Fire Company to cover select Friday Fun Days, and Lara producing signs for the playroom (open Monday through Friday). The commission agreed to reschedule the July meeting to either July 20 or July 21 pending availability and adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
