Kathy VanOrmer, the Sandy Beach Commission treasurer, told commissioners on June 18 that the commission's account balance as of that date was $6,651.19 and that she had loaned the beach $800 on June 4 to cover payroll, reimbursing herself on June 11.
Kathy said Litchfield provided an additional $2,000 for 2026 and that Morris supplied $1,000 following the commission's request for supplemental funding; Kathy reported the Morris funds were received June 11, 2026. She also said the commission is processing payroll every other week to reduce costs and that bank fees have arisen because the account balance has not been kept high enough to avoid fees.
Mike Gacek, identified in the minutes as a beach patron and a Morris Board of Finance member, met with Kathy in June and recommended the commission send monthly financial reports to each town's board of finance and establish separate operating and capital accounts to improve transparency and financial management. Kathy said she would forward monthly reports to the towns.
Corinne Houle moved to approve the May minutes with adjustments earlier in the meeting; Lauren Wheeler seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record no further formal financial votes.
The commission discussed cost controls and revenue options elsewhere in the meeting but took no formal action on account restructuring or new revenue measures at this session. The commission is expected to continue financial discussions at future meetings and to work with town finance boards on reporting and account structure.
