Gadsden trustees hear updates on lockdown drills and campus access-control projects

Principal Bethany Loucks shared observations from a Rio Colorado drill and identified items needing repair to improve protocol adherence.
Luis Ramirez presented the district’s command center and access-control project, describing installations under way at SLMS, Southwest Junior High and ADS and explaining how the systems will centralize monitoring and control of building access. The board heard the presentations as part of routine safety and facilities updates and asked questions about next steps and implementation timelines.
