Residents press town on developer hookup costs; fair bleachers loaned and church plans Back to School Bash

Boswell — During public comment at the July 9 meeting, resident Linda Criswell asked why Boswell would pay to install water and sewer lines for the Vogel Real Estate project on Stokes and North streets. Council President Mike Brody said the town is paying only for the hookup from the main to the property line and that the property owner must pay for installation beyond the property line.
Resident George Doeden asked whether the town’s cable boxes remain in use given that some households no longer subscribe to cable service. The council did not record a formal response in the minutes.
The Fair Board asked to borrow town bleachers for an event; the council agreed provided the Fair Board moves the bleachers, returns them, and accepts responsibility for them while on loan. United Free Methodist announced a Back to School Bash on Aug. 2 from 5–7:30 p.m. with games, free food and giveaways for children.
