The Village of Garland Board of Trustees voted June 10 to approve a contract with NextLink to place telecommunications equipment on the village water tower.
The board discussed liability documentation, an engineering review and placement of equipment on the water tower before Chair Todd Strauss moved to approve the contract. Trustee Bryce Standley seconded the motion. Trustees Strauss, Standley and Trustee/Clerk Haley Hackbart voted in favor; Trustee Emmanuel Morales voted no.
Board members did not record conditions or amendments to the contract in the minutes. The motion carried and the contract was signed at the meeting.
The approval follows discussion of engineering and liability details but the minutes do not record technical specifications, compensation to the village or a timeline for installation. Trustees did not identify any further public hearings on the matter in the minutes.
