The Coconino County Regional Accommodation School District governing board approved FY27 employee contracts for 19 staff members at its March 4 meeting, including step increases for each position and a two-step increase recommended for John Phelps, Director of Exceptional Student Services.
Chief Education Officer Dave Dirksen presented the contract recommendations and said the increases reflect step movement; he highlighted that Phelps faces increased workload, prompting the two-step recommendation. Director of Business Services Erin Tutay reviewed the list of employees slated to receive contracts and confirmed administrative processing steps had been completed to prepare FY26-to-FY27 transitions.
President and Superintendent Cheryl Mango-Paget moved to approve the FY27 employee contracts; the minutes record the action as approved. The board did not record a roll-call vote in the transcript. Dirksen noted additional staffing items—including proposed stipends for two staff members—will return to the board on a future agenda.
The approval authorizes Human Resources and Business Services to finalize contracts and execute routine onboarding tasks for the 19 employees identified.
