GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio — The Geneva-on-the-Lake Village Council convened Jan. 12, 2026, swore in Angela Long as a new council member and unanimously approved an ordinance to hire Krista Ryel as a full-time police officer, the council’s minutes show.
The meeting began at 7:43 p.m. Mayor Dwayne M. Bennett Sr. was present along with Council Members Matt Caudill (president of council), Cynthia Dudeck, Ryan Colby, P.J. Macchia, B.J. New council member Angela Long was sworn into office; council members Ryan Colby, Matt Caudill and Cynthia Dudeck renewed their oaths of office during the meeting. The council then moved through routine business: Council Member P.J. Macchia moved to accept the Dec. 29, 2025 minutes, with Council Member Matt Caudill seconding; a roll-call vote recorded each listed member voting yes and the motion carried. Macchia then moved to pay the bills, Caudill seconded, and that motion likewise passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
