Developer’s attorney secures 180-day extension for Elmwood subdivision

Attorney David Steinmetz told the Greenburgh Planning Board on Jan. 15 that his client, the Elmwood/Ridgewood property owner, has been working with town staff and the Westchester County Department of Health on outstanding utility and infrastructure issues and requested a 180‑day extension of preliminary subdivision approval. "We are not completed, which is why we are unable to submit for final subdivision plat approval," Steinmetz said, and asked the board to grant more time while the county and town finish their reviews.
Planning staff told the board that the developer has been active in coordinating with the Department of Transportation and other town officials and that staff hopes the DOH sign-off can be achieved within the requested period. The extension was described as the third such request for the preliminary subdivision. Chair (speaker 1) asked staff to summarize work completed and staff indicated the developer has been engaged and staff recommended granting the 180‑day extension.
A board member moved and the extension was seconded; the board voted to grant the 180‑day extension. Steinmetz thanked the board and said his client looks forward to returning with a final plat once DOH approval is in place.
The board did not attach additional conditions in the discussion recorded; staff will formalize the extension paperwork and notify the applicant.
