Vero Beach ranks 12th of 32 for FY2027 small matching historic preservation grant, staff say

Cheri Fitzgerald, Principal Planner, told the Historic Preservation Commission on June 18 that the City ranked 12 out of 32 applicants for the FY2027 Small Matching Historic Preservation Grant. Fitzgerald said the grant is intended to continue the City’s historic survey and that staff were hopeful about the City’s high ranking but had not yet received a final award notice.
Fitzgerald said staff expect to hear back from the State in July. No dollar amounts or specific project scopes were provided at the meeting; Fitzgerald described the grant as a matching award to support the city’s ongoing historic survey work.
The Commission recorded the update and did not take a formal action on the grant application during the meeting.
