The Vero Beach Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved its Nov. 20, 2025 minutes and postponed the election of officers at a meeting on June 18, 2026 at City Hall.
Martin Lewis moved to approve the minutes and Penny Norris seconded the motion; the vote passed unanimously (Lee Olsen, Martin Lewis, Penny Norris and Jackie Williams in favor; John Roberts unexcused). The Commission had appointed Lee Olsen as Acting Chairman for the session earlier in the meeting.
Penny Norris used the members’ matters portion of the agenda to invite commissioners to the grand re-opening of the Vero Beach Railroad Station & Exhibit Center on July 9 at 11:00 a.m., and said that John Roberts, the Commission’s chairman, will be speaking. Norris also noted that the Florida Women’s Historical Marker Commission will present a marker for Alma Lee Loy; the dedication is expected in about six months, likely near the Indian River Chamber of Commerce.
The Commission postponed the elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman until its next meeting; no nominations were taken at the June 18 session. The meeting adjourned at 10:02 a.m.
