Truman Council approves $126,761 construction pay request, three-year audit and $309,421.86 in claims

The Truman City Council on July 8 approved a series of routine financial measures, including Pay Request #1 for Mensing Construction and a three-year audit contract. On a motion by Councilor Brian Nickerson, seconded by Councilor Chris Mosloski, the council approved Mensing Construction Pay Request #1 for work at Jones Subdivision in the amount of $126,761.40, following a recommendation from Troy Nemmers of Bolton & Menk.
The council also voted to accept a three-year audit proposal from Burkhardt and Burkhardt after a motion by Nickerson and second by Mosloski. Both motions were recorded as "all ayes." Later in the meeting, Councilor Ron Kelley moved and Councilor Brian Nickerson seconded approval of payment of claims; the approved claims, including the Mensing pay request, totaled $309,421.86 (checks #42064–#42089; ACH #859E–#869E; #501441E).
Other procurement and maintenance votes included accepting A-1 Seamless Roofing's $5,694 bid to repair the clinic roof and approving purchase and installation of a mini-split for the community building fireplace room (estimated at $1,700 plus wiring). Both were approved by unanimous vote.
These approvals follow staff presentations and contractor recommendations during the meeting; council did not attach additional conditions to the payments. The next scheduled council meeting is July 15, when the council will consider other items referred during this session.
