Truman council approves purchase of 2019 ambulance using reserves

Ambulance Director Josh Kitzerow told the council the unit includes a power-load cot and three warranties. He said decals would cost about $4,500 and that the vehicle might need new tires; he also said the next full remount is not expected until 2030. Kitzerow recommended the purchase as a good fit for the department’s needs.
Councilors noted there is roughly $301,000 in reserve available for the purchase. Councilor Chris Mosloski moved and Councilor Ron Kelley seconded the motion to approve the acquisition and trade-in; the motion passed with all ayes.
The council did not set a separate financing plan beyond using the reserve balance. The council listed the purchase as a capital equipment expenditure and confirmed the department’s plan to maintain the rig and manage remount timing.
The council added the item to the minutes for record and did not attach additional conditions to the purchase. The next procedural step is completion of paperwork and equipment transfer.
