MIDDLETOWN, Ind. — The Middletown Town Council on Dec. 20 unanimously approved a promotion for a town dispatcher and adopted changes to the employee handbook that convert personal and sick leave from days to hours, the clerk-treasurer reported.
Town Council President Jake Smith opened the meeting and Clerk-Treasurer Drew Cooper recorded that Jake Smith, Donita Chambless, Dave Wagner and Gary Kendall were present; Betty Riley was absent. The Dispatch Supervisor told the council that Dispatcher Li Mingle had resigned effective Dec. 31, 2016, and recommended promoting Dispatcher Bryan Reed from Grade 3 to Grade 4 and making him a full-time employee. Council Member Dave Wagner moved to approve the promotion; Donita Chambless seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Cooper then presented revisions to the Town Employee Handbook that convert all personal and sick leave from being tracked in days to being tracked in hours. Dave Wagner moved to adopt the handbook changes; Gary Kendall seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
All present council members signed and turned in Anti-Nepotism Policy compliance forms during the meeting. With no further business, the council adjourned.
