Greencastle school board unanimously approves lease amendment, facility contracts and food-service renewal

The Board of School Trustees of the Greencastle Community School Corporation met April 27, 2026, at district central office and unanimously approved a package of resolutions and operational contracts affecting facilities, finance and student services.
During a public hearing required by Indiana Code 20-47-3, Board President Ed Wilson noted the meeting notice had been published March 24, 2026; no members of the public spoke. Superintendent Jeff Gibboney summarized the district’s proposed Third Amendment to the lease with a nonprofit building corporation and recommended the board adopt the resolution authorizing its execution. Jimmy Beasley moved approval; Megan Inman seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved a resolution to assign contracts and bids to the building corporation once received and approved a supplement to the district’s Master Continuing Disclosure Undertaking intended to update the district’s finance disclosures.
On facilities, the board approved the Deer Meadow Primary roof bid from B&L Sheet Metal and Roofing following the superintendent’s recommendation. The board approved several operational agreements and service items, including an Everwise rate agreement with the district, funding and hiring for summer bus cleaning (including hiring three bus cleaners and associated stipends/hours), the 2026 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and the fourth-year renewal of Chartwells as the district’s food service provider for 2026–2027.
Superintendent Gibboney also recommended acceptance of three donations: Putnam County Foundation to the GHS Band Endowment ($937); Jeff and Denise Sigworth to GHS Athletics ($1,100); and Putnam County Community Foundation Sherrie Walton-Holley Endowment to Deer Meadow Primary ($1,507). The board approved the donations unanimously.
Votes at a glance: all motions recorded on the agenda (including the lease resolution, contract assignments, disclosure supplement, Deer Meadow roof bid, Everwise agreement, summer bus cleaning plan, SFSP approval, Chartwells renewal and donations) passed by unanimous vote of the five board members present (Ed Wilson, Jimmy Beasley, Megan Inman, Kathryn Dory and Isaac Case). The board’s actions will allow the district to proceed with the listed contracts and program renewals; the board adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
