Council approves write-in vote rules, THC license, street pay request and raises meal pay

At its July 16 meeting the Spring Grove City Council unanimously approved Resolution 24-33 on write-in vote counting, Resolution 24-34 granting a THC/cannabinoid product license to Kwik Trip, a pay request to Zenke Inc. for 1st Street SW reconstruction, and raised mayor/council meal pay from $10 to $15.

Election procedure: Council Member Trent Turner moved and Council Member Karen Folstad seconded Resolution 24-33 governing write-in vote counting; the motion passed with all members present voting in favor.
Business licensing: Council Member Karen Folstad moved and Council Member Michael Hagen seconded Resolution 24-34, granting Kwik Trip an annual tetrahydrocannabinol/cannabinoid product license; the council approved the license unanimously.
Public works payment: Council Member Trent Turner moved to approve a pay request to Zenke Inc. for the 1st Street SW reconstruction project; Mayor Solum seconded and the council approved the disbursement unanimously.
Policy: The council voted to increase Policy A-3-25 (mayor and city council meal pay) from $10 to $15 per meal after a motion from Council Member Karen Folstad and a second from Council Member Trent Turner; the motion carried unanimously.
Other routine items included adoption of the agenda and approval of the consent agenda earlier in the meeting. The minutes and record show each action was approved "all in favor, motion carried" with four members voting and one member absent.
