Broken Bow council approves consent agenda, payroll and board appointments

Councilmember David Schmidt moved to approve the consent agenda for February 24, 2023 (minutes and Bills to Date) with the exception of three claims; Councilmember David Baltz seconded the motion and the council voted to approve. The council then separately approved three claims that had been excepted: Claim 33709 (EMS incentive payment for Councilmember David Baltz) was approved on a 2-0 vote with Baltz abstaining; Claim 33691 (mileage payment for David Schmidt) was approved on a 2-0 vote with Schmidt abstaining; and Claim 33692 (mileage payment for Paul Holland) was approved on a 2-0 vote with Holland abstaining.
The minutes list the Bills to Date and payroll totaling $222,926.04, which includes a bi-weekly payroll entry of $77,147.00 and payments such as $17,250.00 to Schaper and White Law Firm and $12,916.67 to the Custer County Treasurer. The council also moved to excuse the absence of Councilmember Chris Myers; that motion carried.
The council approved reappointments of Kayti Kremlacek and David Minnick to the Airport Authority Board (terms ending February 2025) and appointed Robert Staab to the Airport Authority Board for a term ending February 2025. Council also reappointed Ryan Vonderohe, Pat Powers and Russ Smith to the Park Board (terms ending February 2027). The council voted to consider advertising bids to repair the Broken Bow Municipal Building and approved moving forward with that consideration.
All routine motions recorded in the minutes carried by roll-call votes, with councilmembers voting as noted and abstentions recorded where councilmembers voted on claims involving themselves. The meeting opened at 6:00 P.M. and adjourned at 6:10 P.M.
