Dixon said the department contracts annual apparatus maintenance — including DOT inspections and pump testing — each spring and that the department delays discretionary purchases late in the fiscal year to preserve funds for unanticipated mechanical repairs.
The minutes note the department was still awaiting a final invoice for apparatus ET334. The report did not list the amount of the pending invoice.
The minutes also record recent personnel certifications: three new emergency medical technicians, one emergency medical responder, one Firefighter I and one newly certified Fire Instructor, indicating continuing training and credentialing within the volunteer ranks.
