Chrisney schedules manhole inspections and smoke testing; town seeks quote to televise sewer lines

Town staff said Commonwealth Engineering will perform manhole inspections and smoke testing; the town will notify customers and public-safety partners. John will obtain quotes to televise sewer lines with the cost proposed to be covered by State Revolving Fund monies if approved. J.H. John told the council that Commonwealth Engineering is slated to perform manhole inspections and smoke testing on the town's sewer lines in the near future. He said the town will notify customers as well as the fire and sheriff's departments ahead of testing.
John also said he is researching the cost of camera equipment to televise sewer lines and expected to present a quote at the Oct. 6 council meeting. He said any televising equipment cost would be paid from State Revolving Fund monies if those funds are approved for the work.
On road work, John reported that contractor J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc. is scheduled to begin paving under the Community Crossings Grant next week and will perform additional paving and patching work around town.
Separately, Clerk Kim said she continues to work with utility rate consultant Pat Callahan on a gas rate study; no changes were proposed at this meeting.
