The Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners on April 6 recognized three longtime public servants, received departmental updates and approved several resolutions by unanimous votes.
Representative Joseph Ciresi presented state citations honoring Earl Swavely, Raymond Lopez and Lew Babel for years of service to the township and surrounding communities. "They have given a lifetime and they are an inspiration to the younger generation," Ciresi said as he presented the citations.
Police Chief Richard Bell reported departmental statistics for March and said the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission recommended the department maintain accreditation for a fourth cycle; Chief Bell credited Sergeant Weidenhammer as the accreditation manager who led the effort. Manager Edward C. Wagner said public works completed moving operations to the new municipal complex and recapped the March work program.
Wagner reported a PennDOT Liquid Fuels allocation of $325,447.29 for 2026, about $6,000 less than last year, and the board identified Brookside Road, Kenny Road, Wendy Drive, Lynn Drive, Longview Road and portions of Sanatoga Road for paving this year.
