Engineer: North Adams Street bridge work likely by late September; PennDOT review underway

Engineer Nick Perilli told the board on April 6 that the contractor submitted its final materials to PennDOT in early March, PennDOT provided what Perilli characterized as minor comments on March 26, and the contractor had supplied a tentative schedule. Perilli said beam lead times are about 8–12 weeks and the work requires roughly two months of construction, projecting project completion around the end of September.
Perilli said if that schedule holds, the replacement would be completed before a deadline related to UGI and temporary piping along the bridge would not be needed. He told the board the road will not be closed until materials are ready and that he will coordinate with the contractor and township manager to provide advance notice, including to the school district and bus operators.
Commissioners asked about closure timing and urged advance notice to the Pottsgrove School District so buses and routes can be planned for September and October. Perilli said he will remain in close contact with the contractor and PennDOT and provide updates to the township manager.
