PennDOT signs off on North Adams Street bridge design; contractor awaits steel beam lead time

Township Engineer Nick Perilli told the Board on May 4 that the North Adams Street bridge design has received PennDOT sign-off. With approvals complete, the contractor will schedule a pre-construction meeting and is awaiting information from its steel supplier about beam lead times, previously estimated at eight to twelve weeks.
Perilli and Township staff said the tentative plan is to begin work in August, but start dates will be adjusted once the contractor confirms beam delivery. The goal is to complete as much work as possible before the school year begins.
Commissioners thanked Perilli for his persistence in advancing the project through the permitting process. No final construction schedule was approved at the May 4 meeting; the Board and engineer said they will set the pre-construction meeting after the supplier confirms lead times.
