Lower Pottsgrove approves $250,000 DCED grant for Adventure Grove, adopts emergency plan and files police charges

Vice President Robert Mohollen and the Lower Pottsgrove Township Board of Commissioners met on May 4, 2026, and approved several measures including Resolution 1397-26 accepting a $250,000 DCED Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program grant for the Adventure Grove project at Sanatoga Park and Resolution 1398-26 promulgating the Township Emergency Operations Plan.
The Board unanimously approved the resolutions and other routine business by 4-0 votes, with Commissioners William Keohane, Eileen Bailey, James Hutchinson (participating remotely), and Robert Mohollen recording affirmative votes. The Board also approved Warrant #967 and accepted the Treasurer's Report for March 2026; Warrant #968 for April will be available for review next week.
Manager Edward C. Wagner provided operational updates including a PECO gas-main replacement on Buchert Road beginning May 18, a property maintenance action at 697 North Price Street following a denied appeal, and removal of the old municipal building sign ahead of a June 8 installation. The Board authorized staff to advertise gasoline bids for consideration at the June 1 meeting and approved a mowing agreement with Free Flow Farm LLC for fields at Bleim and Pleasantview Roads.
In personnel business, the Board voted to approve the filing of a Statement of Charges against a township police officer as recommended by Chief of Police Richard Bell; the motion passed 4-0. Solicitor Jamie Ottaviano had earlier advised the Board that personnel matters were discussed in executive session.
Commissioners used the meeting to recognize staff and law enforcement. Commissioner Keohane commended the Police Department for their response to a recent violent incident; Vice President Mohollen asked Chief Bell to pass the Board’s thanks to officers and detectives.
The Board canceled the May 21 meeting due to commissioner availability and adjourned at 7:15 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
