Hope Select Board approves routine warrants and an appointment; administrator reports on ambulance talks and taxes

The Hope Select Board on Dec. 10 approved routine meeting business and heard administrative updates.
The board approved the meeting agenda, the Nov. 26, 2024 minutes (as amended), and Treasurer and Payroll warrants 44–47. It also appointed Jason Simms to the Planning Board for a term expiring June 30, 2030, and approved the Five Town Community School District warrant and notice of election to call a referendum; all motions passed by unanimous recorded votes where noted.
In the Town Administrator report, the administrator said they met with the CEO of North East Ambulance, the Camden town manager and the Lincolnville administrator to discuss next steps for ambulance service and that the Maine EMS Board is awaiting a Rockport study on regional impacts; the cost of Hope’s ambulance service may depend on whether Rockport receives a transporting license. The administrator said additional interviews for the deputy-clerk position will be held next week and that website training is complete with a hoped-for January or February launch.
The administrator also reported that the Code Enforcement Officer/Plumbing Inspector completed required plumbing testing and will receive an LPI certification number; there were no new building or plumbing permits since Nov. 26. The town reported outstanding real-estate tax accounts for FY2025 totaling $1,831,548.17 and noted foreclosure dates for older unpaid accounts.
