Rye to host resiliency workshop with The Nature Conservancy; hazard mitigation-plan update funded

Rye's Master Plan Implementation Committee on June 2 discussed multiple resiliency items, including a planned workshop with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and a grant to support a Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
Jason Rucker confirmed that the multi-year Route 1A revetments project remains fully funded as a New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) project and that further work is planned this year. Separately, Kim Reed said she, Chair John Shaw and Pat Losik are organizing a resiliency workshop to be facilitated by TNC in the next month or two; TNC will provide facilitation at no charge and will issue a report with recommended action plans that may augment MPIC's resiliency action items.
Reed also reported successful receipt of a grant to support Rye's planned update of its Hazard Mitigation Plan; that update is being organized for later this year and will primarily involve town staff.
Next steps: MPIC will schedule the TNC workshop, review the consultant report when available, and proceed with the hazard mitigation-plan update work later in the year.
