The Royston City Council voted July 9 to hire Lanier Dunn as the city’s new manager, approving the employment package in open session after an executive-session personnel discussion.
Councilman Jason Phillips moved to hire Dunn and read the full terms of employment. The approved package includes a $110,000 base salary, a 10% deferred compensation retirement match through the Georgia Municipal Association, two weeks (80 hours) of vacation, paid group insurance for the employee only, two work-from-home days per calendar month, five days per year of continuing professional education to maintain a CPA license, and a take-home car. Councilman Kenneth Roach seconded the motion; the minutes record the motion carried 6-0.
The council did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes. The hiring follows the council’s earlier decision to enter executive session on personnel.
