Saint Peter school board adopts agenda, hears MSBA workshop on superintendent transition

The School Board of Saint Peter Public Schools met for a study session on Dec. 3, 2025, in the Saint Peter Middle School Media Center. Board Chair Charlie Potts called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the board recorded members present: Ken Rossow, Charlie Potts, Bill Kautt, Drew Dixon and Kate Martens; Rita Rassbach and Tracy Stuewe were absent.

A motion to adopt the agenda was made by Board member Bill Kautt and seconded by Board member Kate Martens; the motion carried unanimously.

Amy Jordan, Associate Director of Leadership Development and Executive Searches for the Minnesota School Boards Association, led a Superintendent Transition Workshop for the board. Jordan conducted a presentation on developing first-year goals and expectations for the school board and superintendent. The workshop covered establishing measurable goals, scheduling and structuring evaluations, maintaining clear communication channels, fostering collaboration between the board and superintendent, and achieving mutual clarity about roles and expectations.

Those listed as present from the Minnesota School Boards Association included Jon Graff and Kimberley Deming alongside Jordan. The session concluded with a motion to adjourn by Kautt, seconded by Martens; the meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m. The minutes for the study session were later approved on Dec. 17, 2025.

The workshop was presented as a governance and transition support activity; no formal policy changes or votes on district policies were recorded during the session.
