Matthew (Matt) Lynn was sworn in as councilman at the start of the Oct. 15 meeting to fill the seat vacated by Mike Heath, who resigned due to frequent illness. The minutes of the Aug. 20 meeting were read and accepted as presented.
Toombs County Manager John Jones contracted to have city and county debris picked up and removed from residences and businesses after the hurricane; Mayor Donita Bowen signed the agreement on behalf of the city. Council recorded that Renee Wright and Monte Powell were absent due to illness.
Council also reviewed a number of routine items and holiday preparations: Mayor Bowen ordered candy and a tarp for the Lyons Christmas Parade, and Eddie Wright plans to run his train around Reindeer Trail for Halloween trick-or-treating. With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
