Richmond Hill council approves consent agenda including water-system survey, vehicles, bonds and ordinance amendment

At its Feb. 3 meeting, the Richmond Hill City Council unanimously approved the consent agenda, which bundled several routine awards, bonds and an ordinance amendment.
Key approvals included awarding a Water System Upgrades Phase 1 survey for $118,125 (funded from the water and sewer fund); purchase approvals for a 2026 Ford F-350 ($69,517), a Caterpillar D3 LGP dozer ($159,870), and a mini excavator ($129,035) for stormwater and operations (funded through SPLOST 24-30); and fire department vehicles and equipment totaling $125,193. The council accepted several bonds including a $1,639,122.64 maintenance bond for Heartwood Ave Extension, a $583,295.81 performance bond for Heartwood POD 4 Phase 1D, a $1,213,785.08 maintenance bond for River Crossing Townhomes, and a $2,729,000.00 performance bond for Del Webb Phase 3A. The council also approved the city's project share of $859,800 for the Brisbon Road (Harris Trail) pedestrian bridge per a memorandum of understanding with Bryan County.
Councilmember Kevin Bowes moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilmember Steve Scholar seconded. The motion carried in the affirmative by all. The consent package also included the second reading and approval of an ordinance amending Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-30 (distance requirements) related to alcoholic beverage licensing.
No new business or communications were presented at the meeting, and the council adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
