The Staples-Motley School District board approved a consent agenda Nov. 17 that included personnel actions and separately accepted two retirements.
The consent agenda, approved on a motion by Trout and second by Reeck, recorded resignations of Paul Petrich (Elementary Custodian), Audra Steffen (Elementary Paraprofessional) and Drew Potter (junior-high basketball and baseball coach). The board approved hires including Dillen Avenson for Middle/High School paraprofessional and the re-assignment/hire of Paul Petrich as Middle/High School lead custodian. The consent agenda also approved the 2025–26 winter coaches list and two fundraiser requests.
Separately, the board accepted the retirement of Yolanda Koppes, Elementary Paraprofessional, effective Dec. 31, 2025, on a motion by Trout (seconded by Reeck), and thanked Koppes for 27 years of service. The board also accepted the retirement of School District Nurse Cindy Denning, effective June 30, 2026, on a motion by Frisk (seconded by Wright), and thanked her for five years of service.
All personnel actions recorded in the Nov. 17 minutes were approved by motions that carried with the full board present.
