Consent agenda and payments: The council approved minutes from April meetings, accepted the Building/Streets revenue report showing permits approved totaling $3,602,394.00 and permit revenue of $38,889.40, and approved vendor payments including Haas & Assoc. LBLSDR Invoice #2024374-10 for $45,455.00, Cender Dalton Invoice #12611 for $2,332.50, and Wall Constructors Invoice #3275 for $9,195.83. Anita Remijas moved to approve the consent agenda; Colleen Wall Lane seconded; the vote was 4-0 in favor.
Hiring: The council approved Chief Swistek’s recommendation to hire Michael Liston as a Street Department laborer at $23 per hour. Swistek said the town received 70 applicants for the position, interviewed three candidates (two no-shows) and plans to place Liston on a one-year probationary period with a start date of May 26, 2026. Joy Schmitt moved the hire; Cindy Levy seconded; vote 4-0.
Ordinance #2026-03 — truck appropriation: Clerk-Treasurer Meg Collins requested an additional appropriation to pay for an F-550 truck, originally in the 2027 capital plan, from the garbage/leaf fund so payment can be made upon delivery expected in July 2026. Joy Schmitt moved approval; Colleen Wall Lane seconded; the ordinance passed 4-0.
Other actions: The council approved the Hass Engineering final engineering proposal for Phase 1 of Lake Shore Drive (see separate report), tabled a Public Works snow-plowing overtime cost request for Human Resources committee review, and tabled final handbook approval until HR completes a review. With no further council comments, Cindy Levy moved to adjourn at 7:42 PM; Joy Schmitt seconded and the meeting adjourned by unanimous vote.
Votes: All recorded motions at the May 11 meeting carried by recorded 4-0 tallies with one council member absent (Kendra Bartlett).
