Members received updates on horticultural projects May 26 including completed plantings by the Beach Garden Club, consideration of a rain garden in front of the Community Center, and plans for a deer‑resistant demonstration garden around the brick Memorial Garden.
Mary Beth Rebedeau reported the initial plantings are complete and under maintenance and that the club will work with maintenance staff on trees in the flagpole garden. Janice said the board intends to apply for a $10,000 grant through the Department of Natural Resources to fund a tree inventory.
