Dallas County approves auditor‑office renovation costs and trail repair contracts

The board approved a GMP amendment for Auditor’s Office preconstruction services, an asbestos abatement contract and Snyder & Associates agreements for Raccoon River Valley Trail repairs and pavement rehabilitation funded from the Bike Trail Fund.
The Dallas County Board of Supervisors on June 16 approved a guaranteed maximum price amendment for preconstruction services for the Auditor’s Office renovation and authorized an asbestos abatement contract for the project.
Operations Director Rob Tietz presented a GMP amendment not to exceed $38,825 for preconstruction services and an asbestos abatement contract with Earth Services Abatement LLC for up to $107,000; the board approved both contracts and authorized the chair to sign.
The board also approved two professional services contracts with Snyder & Associates for the Racoon River Valley Trail (Adel–Redfield): a professional services agreement to review trail intersections and a Trail Pavement Rehabilitation contract to address crack filling and concrete replacement around bridges. Curt Cable and Rich Voelker reported the work was budgeted in the Bike Trail Fund and will begin after summer with weekend work when feasible.
Both Snyder & Associates agreements were approved on motions by Supervisor Brad Golightly, seconded by Chair Juli Helm. The chair was authorized to sign the contracts.
The county indicated the trail work responds to a casualty last fall in Polk County and includes sign posting, sight‑triangle corrections and pavement/bridge repairs.
