Woodbury County authorizes one-year public health services agreement with Ida County
Summary
The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors authorized the chair to sign a one-year agreement for the district health department to provide public-health services to Ida County residents for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027; Ida County will reimburse Woodbury County for services. The motion passed 5-0.
Woodbury County on a unanimous 5-0 vote authorized the board chair to sign a one-year intergovernmental agreement in which the district health department will provide public-health services to Ida County residents from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
Kevin Green of the district health department told the board the “final agreement that we have with Ida County” had been reviewed by both counties and their boards and that the signature would complete the formal approval process. He said the arrangement is structured so "any services that we would provide . . . for Ida County residents, those costs would be reimbursed by Ida County,” and that there should be no additional burden on Woodbury County.
Green also reported the health department was operating with a modest budget underrun — about $3,000 at this point — that he said should cover unanticipated costs related to service delivery.
Supervisor Nelson moved to authorize the chair to sign the agreement; Bittinger seconded the motion. The board approved the authorization 5-0.
The agreement will be signed by the four entities involved and returned to each governing body for their records; staff said the county will keep original copies for each partner.
