At its Dec. 15, 2025 meeting the Sandersville City Council adopted three resolutions, including an amendment to the schedule of fees and charges and new financial policies, and then adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 budget for the city’s funds.
Council Member Mayme Dennis moved to adopt Resolution #2025-13 amending the schedule of fees and charges; Council Member Deborah Brown seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council Member Deborah Brown moved to adopt Resolution #2025-14 adopting financial policies; Mayor Pro Tem Jeffery Smith seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council Member Ben Salter seconded a motion to adopt Resolution #2025-15 adopting the FY2026 budget; that motion also passed unanimously.
On procurement the council considered a bid for an Animal Control outdoor recreation area. Police Chief Vic Cuyler told the council he selected the lowest bid from ATL Prime Services. Council discussion noted a local vendor’s bid was roughly $2,000 higher; Council Member Danny Brown asked why the local vendor was not chosen, and Chief Cuyler said the ATL proposal was more detailed. The council voted to award the bid to ATL Prime Services for $79,785 with a recorded opposition from Council Member Danny Brown and favorable votes from other members.
Council Member Deborah Brown moved to reappoint Bobbie Jones to the Planning & Zoning Board for a term beginning Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2028; the motion passed unanimously. The council also approved the 2026 meeting schedule. The meeting adjourned after the final motions.
The council did not provide detailed line‑item budget figures for FY2026 in the minutes excerpted here; the full adopted budget is part of the official record held by the city clerk.
