Santa Claus credits volunteers for park parking-lot paving and plans new signs, repairs

Mayor Donita Bowen said she will contact an electrician for power to a new storage building and for updates at the Gift Shop. Brenda Sells said she is still arranging for an electrician to complete the electrical work.
The mayor presented sign pricing for the park: reflective Playground Rules signs at $54.26 and Park Hours signs at $61.05, plus two green baked-enamel posts. Bowen suggested the signage note "Bell Parking Lot" to recognize Russ Bell’s donation of the parking property. Eddie Wright said he would contact Luis Nino to ask for assistance striping the lot; council estimated commercial striping would cost $2,000, so the volunteer assistance would reduce that expense and ensure two handicap spaces.
Council also noted the walking-trail swing damaged in the recent hurricane will be repaired by Clarence Pittman and that Sue Grisham will contact the EMC to replace a Pavilion security light that will not remain on.
These park and facility maintenance items were recorded in the minutes as updates; no formal motion or financing line-item was recorded for the signs or electrical work in the meeting record.
