The St. Stephen City Council reviewed and approved a proposed budget for 2025 and set a proposed levy of $293,876.68 during a budget work session on Aug. 21.
Council members examined line items and adjustments across general government, public safety and road and bridge funds. The minutes list figures including general revenue expenses of $199,507.00, receipts of $226,137.00 and specific levy components for public safety, road and bridge and debt service. Council Member Danita Traut moved to approve the proposed budget and Council Member Tom Vouk seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Council staff will proceed with finalizing the proposed levy and budget documents for the formal truth-and-taxation and adoption process required by state statute.
