Council approves land split and rezoning for Main Street West property

The St. Stephen City Council on Sept. 4 approved a land split and rezoning for a property at 824 Main St. West submitted by John Dockendorf. At a 7:00 p.m. public hearing the council voted to divide the parcel into a 5.01-acre lot and a 34.99-acre lot and to rezone both parcels from FR to RR-1.
Mayor Lisa Marvin opened the hearing and invited comments; none were offered by members of the public. Council Member Steve Trobec moved to approve the land split and council Member Gene Skaj seconded; the motion carried with all members voting in favor. A subsequent motion by Council Member Tom Vouk, seconded by Steve Trobec, approved the rezoning change and also carried unanimously.
The council’s action updates the official zoning on Parcel No. 90.55911.0000 and authorizes the split into two tracts. The minutes record that the public hearing record contained the legal descriptions for the two tracts and that the council reviewed and discussed those descriptions before voting.
No conditions or special requirements beyond the rezoning and land-split approval were recorded in the minutes. The council returned to regular business at 7:04 p.m.
