Gila Bend council approves consent agenda, OKs airport services contract; ambulance billing decision tabled

The Town of Gila Bend council approved its consent agenda on June 9, 2026, ratifying prior minutes and claims and passing Resolution No. 26-04 to continue participation in Maricopa County's CDBG urban county program for federal fiscal years 2027–2029.
Vice-Mayor Chris Riggs moved to approve the consent agenda and Councilmember Scott Swanson seconded; the motion passed unanimously with five present and two absent. Later in the meeting the council considered business items: it tabled a proposed contract for ambulance billing services with EMS Management & Consultants, and it approved a Professional Services Agreement with Corey Drury for marketing and management of the Gila Bend Municipal Airport for an amount not to exceed $15,000 for fiscal year 2026–27. The airport services motion was made by Vice-Mayor Riggs, seconded by Councilmember Will Sipes, and passed unanimously (5–0, two absent).
No further action was taken on the ambulance billing item. The council adjourned at 7:54 p.m.
