Longswamp supervisors discuss Park & Recreation rules, volunteer reimbursements and holiday events

Solicitor Beth Kohl reviewed a draft Park & Recreation Rules ordinance and offered recommendations; Chairman Don Hickman and the board asked Kohl to present a revised, cleaned‑up draft at the next meeting. The board also directed the solicitor to draft sample credit‑card policy language after discussing the option of the township holding a Sam’s Club membership and a township credit card so volunteers need not front event expenses.
Supervisor Mike Sacks announced the Park & Recreation Board meeting on Nov. 19 and promoted the Dec. 7 Christmas Tree Lighting and Open House (Santa arriving by fire truck, photos, children’s story time and choir caroling). Sacks asked about a previously discussed $300 donation/payment to Puddin Heartland for an October event; he was informed that payment is being processed.
The board also approved an expense reimbursement voucher of $92.10 payable to Supervisor Mike Sacks for Pumpkin Hunt supplies that exceeded the Park & Recreation 30‑day rule. The motion to approve passed 2–1, with Chairman Hickman voting no.
Ending: The board assigned follow‑up to the solicitor to produce ordinance edits and a sample credit‑card policy for review at the next meeting.
