Support services transition to YMCA reported as smooth; elementary roof pre-bid draws multiple bidders

Staff said YMCA programming is running in both buildings and that employees who previously worked for CARES moved to YMCA positions, producing continuity for students and families. Ryan George was recognized for leading and assisting staff and parents through the initial week of transition.
Separately, staff reported a pre-bid meeting for the elementary-school roof project that attracted several contractors. The formal bid opening is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. next Wednesday; staff expects to return with a recommendation at the following board meeting. The tentative construction start date was discussed as June 2 with completion expected by July 31, in time for the next school year.
Board members stressed that more bidders typically yield better pricing and said they will consider the staff recommendation once bids are received.
